Photo engraving guide

Photo engravings work best with:

• A clear, well-lit subject with good contrast
• A higher-resolution photo — the more pixels, the more detail survives engraving
• A simple background, so the subject stands out

What resolution means for your item

We check the pixel size of your photo against the size of the item. A photo rated Good has plenty of detail. OK should still engrave well. Low may lose some detail — we'll tell you so before you submit, and it's never a hard stop; a person checks every photo before it's engraved.
